I really enjoyed this movie. And believe me when I say I didn't think I would. I figured the plot would make for a difficult watch but I was wrong. It turns out that despite the plot (gay girl sent to anti-gay concentration camp) the movie is mildly erotic. It was clear that Chloe Grace Moretz threw herself into this role wholeheartedly and her performance showed. This resulted in a steady stream of scenes, sprinkled throughout the film, of her girl-girl encounters, both real and imagined. Very nice surprise.
Though the overall plot, with it's somewhat sluggish pacing and refusal to single anyone out as the 'bad guy', and the lackluster ending do leave something to be desired. I think a lot of story was left on the cutting room floor. Unfortunately. I'd still recommend it to any fan of Chloe Grace or lesbian cinema.
