Watched: Blu-Ray (03.06.20)
Disney used to make these grand adventure films that captivated your imagination. Long before other studios got on the bandwagon it was Disney that pioneered this type of movie. This was an attempt to recapture the magic of that era. It works, to a extent, but also fails to an extent. The story is big enough to pull it off but the executiion of said story (the script) falls short of the dream. George Clooney is fabulous as the lead, Britt Robertson is a revelation and Raffey Cassidy has a star making turn. Too bad the creative doesn't match the performances. Still a lot of fun and doesn't feel like it's over 2 hours long though it is. Good fun.
